JOHANNESBURG - The IEC is confident it's nabbed the official who leaked the ANC's election candidates list.

But it says the investigation is ongoing.

"At the moment the established facts indicate that there was one person," said Sy Mamabolo, IEC Chief Electoral Officer.

"The investigation is still ongoing precisely to preclude the possibility that there may have been other officials who did the same.

"So we have not raised the conclusion point of the investigation but we have to really cover all the bases to ensure that all possibility is precluded.”

Meanwhile, the ANC says it still has confidence in the IEC despite the leak of its election candidates list.

Secretary-General Fikile Mbalula says he's positive those responsible will be brought to book.

Mbalula says the ANC will be victorious come 29 May despite attempts to sabotage it.
