17 suspects arrested for theft, vandalism at City Power

JOHANNESBURG - At least 17 suspects have been arrested for theft and vandalism at City Power infrastructure since the 2023 financial year.

The city says crime remains a concern which leaves residents without power.

It's now taken steps to safeguard 45 mini substations with heavy-duty steel bracket enclosures.

City Power's group executive has also applauded communities for taking a stand against theft and vandalism.
