JOHANNESBURG - The Buffalo City Metropolitan Municipality says it's not in the business of making profits, but its increase in tariffs is to ensure that service delivery challenges are attended to.
The municipality says it's grappling with financial losses to the tune of over R300m largely incurred to supply affordable electricity.
However, residents in the metro are not buying this, accusing the municipality of being unreasonable to households already suffering due to the high cost of living.
