A sewer pipe collapse in Manenberg in the Western Cape has resulted in raw sewage pouring down the streets for weeks.
While the problem has been fixed, the City of Cape Town says delays in replacing the pipe have been caused by gang violence in the area.
While the City has allocated a whopping R860m for its sewer and water pipe replacement programme, it says intentional vandalism of infrastructure is a concern.
Ayesha Ismail visited the area on Saturday and filed report above.
