JOHANNESBURG - The Gold One mine has dismissed the 401 miners involved in an illegal sit-in last year.
Over 500 workers failed to emerge from an underground shaft due to a labour dispute over organising rights at the Springs mine.

The National Union of Mineworkers called it a hostage situation, while rivals AMCU called it a peaceful sit-in.
At the end of last year, the company held disciplinary proceedings against all the workers, who were involved in the initial labour dispute.
