JOHANNESBURG - The Department of Home Affairs has started a process to eliminate widespread ID fraud.
They aim to achieve this by phasing out the notorious green barcoded ID books.
And to get the process going, the department has extended its services to Saturdays until 12 October.
This initiative, which began this weekend, also targets first-time applicants and matriculants preparing for their final exams later this year.
eNCA’s Lindiwe Mpanza has the details in the video above.
