Numerous incidents have highlighted the unsanitary conditions and poorly mainatained infrastructure at our public hospitals. And the level of care offered by medical staff is also being questioned.

Will public hospitals improve their services if private hospitals, which exist for those who can afford them, are incorporated into a single public health offering?

Will this raise the standard of existing public health facilities?
