CAPE TOWN - Cash strapped Capetonians have gathered outside the Cape Town Civic Center to protest high electricity tariffs.
Hundreds of people from various political parties, trade unions and civil society, have handed over a memorandum to the City of Cape Town.
They want to pay the National Energy Regulator’s recommendation of 15.1%.
However, the City argues that its 17.6% is a legally approved tariff.
