JOHANNESBURG - The Springboks are gearing up for the shortened version of the Rugby Championship, beginning with a clash against Australia at Loftus Versfeld Stadium this weekend.
South Africa will be hoping to keep their 60-year unbeaten record against the Wallabies at Loftus.
But they will have to do it without their skipper Siya Kolisi, who's off due to injury.
This also means the Boks will have a new captain for the Wallabies due to the absence of injured Handre Pollard and Eben Etzebeth.
Jacques Nienaber is expected to announce the squad in Pretoria, with Steven Kitshoff, Duane Vermeulen and Lukhanyo Am as the frontrunners to lead the team.
The Boks will face New Zealand in Auckland next weekend before they close the Rugby Championship against the Pumas at Ellis Park Stadium.
