Pinnock to head up women’s football

JOHANNESBURG - The scenes that were seen in the build-up to Banyana Banyana’s World Cup campaign will hopefully be a thing of the past.

That is, if all goes well for Safa and its new head of women’s football.

Romaney Pinnock has been appointed to the position, the association confirmed in a statement.

Pinnock is the founding director of Badgers Football Academy, a women’s football club based in Cape Town.

She also holds a Fifa Master in the Management, Law, and Humanities of Sport certification.

Pinnock has also worked as a management consultant for more than 10 years.

She has also been tasked with producing a women’s football strategy for the association.
