CAPE TOWN - South Africa were pleased to start their Netball World Cup campaign on a winning note.
However, the Spar Proteas' 61 - 50 victory against Wales, was the performance of a team who still needs to improve if they are to go all the way.
Coach Norma Plummer admitted as much after the game.

The Spar Proteas' first court appearance in their home Netball World Cup, was particularly emotional for Ine-Mari Venter, who missed the 2019 edition through injury.
Venter was voted the Most Valuable Player in South Africa's 61 - 50 win over Wales.
She harnessed the emotion felt during the national anthem before the game.
