JOHANNESBURG - Kyalami has lost out to Las Vegas to host a Formula One race.
A provisional calendar for 2022/23 has been released, which includes a record 24 races.
There were huge expectations that Kyalami would get the nod ahead of Las Vegas.
It would have been the circuit's first since 1993, but South Africa wasn't included in next year's calendar.
The lengthy season is scheduled to start in Bahrain on March 5th and finish in Abu Dhabi on 26 November.
There will be a new race in Las Vegas next season, but, this will be the penultimate round as F1 's mother body quickly added a third race in the United States.
