JOHANNESBURG - Springbok captain Siya Kolisi is on the mend and will probably lead the team in their world title defence in France later this year.
Kolisi posted a video on Instagram of himself cycling on a stationary bicycle with no sign of discomfort a few weeks after his knee operation.
The 2019 World Cup-winning skipper suffered a knee injury playing for the Sharks against Munster in the United Rugby Championship last month.
Kolisi opted to undergo an operation which looked likely to rule him out of the Rugby World Cup in France starting in September.
However, after the successful operation, Kolisi and the Springbok management are confident that the Zwide-born loose forward will win the race against time to lead the world champions in France.
