Kolisi back for Ireland Test series

JOHANNESBURG - The Springboks have named a strong squad for the two-test series against Ireland next month.

A number of overseas-based players are on the list including captain Siya Kolisi.

Kolisi did not feature in the friendly against Wales in London.

There have been a lot of question marks around his captaincy and lately his fitness.

Bulls players are now available after the URC final against the Glasgow Warriors.

Hookers Johan Grobbelaar and Jan-Hendrik Wessels will join the squad.

World Cup winner Marco van Staden and prop Gerhard Steenekamp have also cracked the nod.

Kolisi’s club teammate Trevor Nyakane will further bolster the squad.

But there's no place for Wilcow Louw and Elrigh Louw.

In terms of the backs, it’s the usual suspects Willie le Roux and Kurt-Lee Arendse.

The 39-man squad features 22 forwards and 17 backs.

Rassie Erasmus will announce a permanent captain closer to the Ireland match.
