Leclerc finished second fastest in qualifiers behind Red Bull’s Max Verstappen.
However, the Dutchman has taken a 10-place grid penalty for exceeding his permitted number of engine components.
Red Bull’s Sergio Perez was third fastest and Lewis Hamilton was fourth for Mercedes.
