Former Orlando Pirates captain Papi Khomane dies

JOHANNESBURG - Tributes are pouring in for former Bafana and Orlando Pirates defender Papi Khomane.

He was killed in a car crash with his mother and uncle while on their way to a funeral in Newcastle.

Khomane captained Pirates and Jomo Cosmos and made nine international appearances for Bafana Bafana.

The 49-year-old defender featured in over 150 matches for the Buccaneers.

He is the son of former Pirates player Johannes 'Yster' Khomane.
