DURBAN - June's Comrades Marathon will have a slightly shorter race route.
The Comrades Marathon Association revealed the route, which will span 87.7 kilometres from Pietermaritzburg to Durban.
This is more than two kilometres shorter than last year's run.
The five cut-off points along the race course were also revealed, with Kingsmead cricket ground hosting the finish with a final cut-off time of 5:30pm.
Possible road works on the N3 in the area could also make it tricky for the masses of runners to get to the starting point at the Pietermaritzburg City Hall.
Nonetheless, preparations seem to be falling into place for the 96th Comrades Marathon.
