Cardiff end Stormers' unbeaten run

CARDIFF - The Stormers’ 15-match unbeaten run came to an end as the Western Cape side suffered a loss at the hands of Cardiff at a wet and rainy Cardiff Arms Park.

Following a 16-all draw with the Ospreys, the Stormers hoped to seal a win before returning home.

However, the defending champions fell short despite scoring four tries to two.

A number of unforced errors and knock-ons saw the South African side concede too many penalties as Rhys Priestland scored six of those and one conversion as the hosts won 30-24.

The win moves Cardiff up to 6th spot on the log and the Stormers, who grabbed two points, move to fourth in the standings.

Next weekend's URC action sees the Stormers travel back home to battle the Lions at Ellis Park on Saturday while Cardiff host Scarlets on Sunday.
