Capital Marathon | Potholes ruining runners’ experience

PIETERMARITZBURG - The Capital City marathon is one of the fastest growing marathons in Pietermaritzburg, attracting hundreds of participants locally and internationally.

However, the 2023 race was marred by potholes incidents and faulty streetlights.

Race organisers have urged the municipality to attend to their issues before next year’s race.

"We are working hand-in-hand with the municipality in fixing potholes, streetlights and just ensuring that the vegetation along the route is well cut and kept neat," said Steve Mkasi, KZN Athletics president.
