Bartlett: Bafana must fight to earn World Cup spot

JOHANNESBURG - It's been over 20 years since Bafana Bafana last qualified for the Fifa World Cup.

After their win against Benin on Saturday, there is growing optimism that the national men's team's fortunes could make a turn for the better ahead of their away World Cup qualifier against Rwanda today.

Former Bafana striker Shaun Bartlett has cautioned the team not to take Rwanda lightly and to fight to earn their place at the global showpiece to be held in the USA, Canada and Mexico in three years time.

South Africa currently lead Group C with Nigeria and Zimbabwe in second and third place, respectively.
