KOLKATA - Bangladesh were facing a fifth defeat in six World Cup matches following a top-order collapse against the Netherlands in Kolkata on Saturday.
The Tigers, set a seemingly modest 230 for victory, slumped to 70-6 and at the halfway stage of their innings were 87-6, needing 143 more runs to win from the final 25 overs.
After Aryan Dutt and Logan van Beek made early inroads, paceman Paul van Meekeren followed up with 3-18 in just five overs.
Earlier, Netherlands captain Scott Edwards, looking to lead the non-Test side to a second win of the tournament following a shock victory over South Africa, top-scored with 68 in a total of 229 all out.
His innings helped the Netherlands recover after they had been 63-4 and 107-5.
