Now his name has been added to the list of meanings in the Michaelis Portuguese dictionary in Brazil.
In that dictionary's latest entries, Pele was added as an adjective, meaning unique or exceptional.

Pele died in December at the age of 82 and is widely regarded as one of the greatest footballers to ever play the game.
The iconic number 10 was part of three World Cup triumphs for Brazil, winning the first one at the age of 17.
The Brazilian is still seen as a standard bearer for excellence in the game.
