PRETORIA - The plans by the ANC to 'reconfigure' leadership in Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal may be in motion but what does this mean for odinary South African?
This was the question political analyst, Mpumelelo Mkhabela had as he reacted to the ANC Secretary-General Fikile Mbalula's announcement that the Provincial Executive Committees of Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal will be reconfigured.

Mbalula's decision comes after a significant decline in support for the ANC in both provinces in the 2024 elections.
Mkhabela while noting the move by the ANC to reconfigure he argued that the party has not fully explained what 'reconfiguring' would mean in KwaZulu-Natal and Gauteng as well as for the citizens of the country and service delivery.
