JOHANNESBURG - The national Union of Mineworkers says it is shocked by Sibanye-Stillwater's announcement of possible retrenchments.
But the Sibanye-Stillwater management hopes to limit the extent of job cuts.
This comes after they announced a Section 189A process which could impact over 3,000 workers and contractors in their gold operations.
This is mainly due to lower production and also comes at a time where wage negotiations are due to start.
