JOHANNESBURG - The Constitutional Court has ruled that Former President, Jacob Zuma, cannot stand as a candidate in next week’s polls.
Voters will still see his face on the ballot as the leader of the MK Party, but the ruling means he cannot head to parliament to represent the party as a lawmaker.

The court concluded that Zuma was convicted to 12 months behinds bars and therefore is barred by the constitution.
That overturns the finding of the Electoral Court earlier that he could stand because, despite being sentenced, he had no option to appeal as in other criminal matters.
Political analyst, Mpumelelo Mkhabela had a conversation with the eNCA on this matter.
