JOHANNESBURG - The festive season is fast approaching, during this period, the country experiences an influx of tourists.
The sector contributes significantly to economic growth and accounts for about 10-percent of South Africa's GDP but criminals are also active during this time.
There are increased levels of crime which include robbery, theft, bank card scamming and car hijacking during this period.
So is South Africa ready for domestic and international tourists?
