SA Law Reform Commission wants changes to Criminal Procedure Act

JOHANNESBURG - The SA Law Reform Commission has proposed changes to the Criminal Procedure Act.

It says these would reduce the backlog of bail applications, prevent unlawful arrests, and minimise unnecessary litigation against the state.

The result would be a justice system that's more responsive, accessible and fair to all citizens.
