CAPE TOWN - The City of Cape Town has approved a Power Heroes Programme.
Those who sign up will have their geysers enabled to be remotely turned off.

The city says the voluntary programme could save up to 60 Megawatts of power.
"If enough people sign up to save enough power then you can save an entire stage of load-shedding across the entire city of Cape Town," said mayor Geordin Hill-Lewis.
"I must emphasise that it is a total voluntary programme."
