MOZAMBIQUE - Civil society organisations from across Southern Africa are urging the Mozambique government to protect opposition leader Vanencio Mondlane.
Mondlane is back in the country after three months in self-imposed exile.
He is now calling for the protests against Frelimo's election victory to continue.
Since the October elections, waves of protests have left over 200 people dead.

A coalition from the SADC region said safety for opposition leader Vanencio Mondlane and dialogue are the keys to ending the crisis.
A delegation from the Joint Regional Civil Society Working Group visited Mozambique in December to assess the situation.
