JOHANNESBURG - Affected families of the Life Esidimeni tragedy say they want to see the officials responsible behind bars.

The judgment in the inquest found that former health MEC Qedani Mahlangu and former HOD Makgabo Manamela negligently caused some of the deaths.
Bereaved families have welcomed the judgment, saying the move that killed 144 mental health patients was a massacre.
The NPA is studying the Life Esidimeni inquest judgment before deciding on a way forward.
