Unemployed youth urged to consider entrepreneurship
JOHANNESBURG - There's no end in sight to growing youth unemployment, and it seems there's not much being done to upskill them.
Joblessness increased to 33.5% in the second quarter of the year.
Discouraged job seekers also increased to 42.6. Setlogane Manchidi of Investec has warned against nurturing a generation that is only ready for the workplace.
He believes self-employment in the form of entrepreneurship can help more people become economically active.
