DURBAN - The IFP is celebrating its 50th anniversary in Ulundi the birthplace of its founder, Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi.
It was formed as a cultural movement with the blessing of ANC leaders in exile before morphing into a political party at bitter odds with the ANC.
It is currently part of the GNU and governs KwaZulu-Natal in a coalition with the ANC and other parties.
