JOHANNESBURG - Gary Da Silva, chairperson of Fathers 4 Justice South Africa, says because of an incompetent education system, millions of fathers don't know what their rights are.
In light of Father's Day on Sunday, he addressed some of the root causes that contribute to fatherlessness in society.
He says it's vital to return fathers back to their role within the family unit.
He said, "The necessity to have fathers returned to their central role within the family unit is absolutely vital. We fundamentally believe that it is necessary for fathers to be placed back in the position that they have forcefully removed out by an unjust legal system, where they have been specifically targeted with vile things like toxic masculinity..."
"We need to re-establish the family unit and we need to have a justice system that works effectively and efficiently and gets the family, so that's the whole family, mommy and daddy, out of the legal justice system as effectively and efficiently as possible."
