STELLENBOSCH - President Cyril Ramaphosa has called South Africa’s move toward cleaner power solutions a renewable energy revolution.
Delivering the Opening of Parliament address on Thursday, he said there was a huge pipeline of renewable energy projects, representing over 22 thousand megawatts of new generating capacity and abut R400 billion in new private investments.

Ramaphosa added that just this week, the largest ever private energy project connected to the grid in the North Wes with over 390 thousand solar panels.
