JOHANNESBURG - The International Criminal Court has issued arrest warrants for Israel’s Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, a former minister, as well as the military commander of Hamas.
The Hamas warrant was issued for Mohammed Deif although Israel says he was killed in an air strike in Gaza in July.
The judges say there are reasonable grounds to believe that Netanyahu, Yoav Gallant, and Deif bear criminal responsibility for alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity.
Israel has responded saying the move is absurd and anti-semitic.
Dr Atilla Kisla from the Southern Africa Litigation Centre discussed what this means with eNCA.
