NAIROBI- More than 79 million girls in sub-Saharan Africa are victims of sexual assault before they turn 18. This is based on the latest report by UNICEF.

The organisation says sexual assault inflicts deep and lasting trauma on girl children. With the added trauma being that the perpetrator is often known to the victim.
