JOHANNESBURG - Our history should never be for sale.

That's how the Freedom Park Heritage Site has responded to the Madiba auction.

Items belonging to former President Nelson Mandela could go under the hammer next month.

His daughter Makaziwe wants to sell the objects in order to build a memorial garden in the Eastern Cape.

But Freedom Park says this is a an insult to Madiba's legacy.

It's appealing to those behind the auction to reconsider.
