JOHANNESBURG - The Minister of Electricity and Energy, Kgosientsho Ramokgopa, has welcomed the extradition of fugitive Michael Lomas.
Lomas was brought back to South Africa today from the UK.
He’s been implicated in bribing Eskom officials to receive a contract at Kusile Power Station worth 745-million rand.
Lomas was first arrested in the UK in 2021 at the request of South African authorities.
He joins three former Eskom managers as well as the CEO of Tubular Construction, the company he belonged to at the time.
In April 2016, Tubular Construction was awarded a contract to build air-cooled condensers at Kusile.
Criminal lawyer, William Booth discussed this with eNCA.
