CAPE TOWN - South Africa is still highly dependent on fossil fuels.
This is according to researchers at the University of Cape Town.
According to the researchers, coal is still the largest energy source at 80%.
However, the country is committed to a transition to greener energy in a way that does not leave workers and users in the lurch.
