JOHANNESBURG - The battle against the high cost of living continues as consumers struggle to make ends meet.
Inflation and rising prices for essential goods and services are squeezing household budgets, leaving many grappling with difficult financial decisions.

Former Statistician General Pali Lehohla unpacked the trends affecting household disposable income and the high cost of living.
"Government can do a lot," he said.
"Electricity, water, sanitation and health. All there is where government can intervene but the municipalities have become a cash cow."
