Calls for inquiry into NPA and its leadership

JOHANNESBURG - The Centre for Development and Enterprise has issued a call for President Cyril Ramaphosa to appoint a retired judge to investigate the National Prosecuting Authority.

It says this will help address concerns about the lackluster performance of the NPA in prosecuting major corruption cases.

It says after six years of the leadership of Shamila Batohi, the think tank’s report emphasizes the need for accountability and reform to restore public trust in law enforcement.

The Executive Director of the Centre for Development Enterprises, Ann Bernstein discussed this with eNCA.
