JOHANNESBURG - The Democratic Alliance has lost its bid to declare the ANC's cadre deployment policy unlawful.
The party's bid was aimed at outlawing politically connected appointments being made in the public sector.
Despite most opposition parties backing the DA, the ANC used its majority in Parliament to reject it.
Unisa's Mametlwe Sebei says the ANC no longer deploys cadres but rather mediocre and corrupt officials.
He said, "a cadre use to be a highly trained activist who committed to transformation and the ANC is no longer committed to that. The ANC no longer deploys cadres but mediocre and corrupt elements."
