JOHANNESBURG - Fears of a resurgence of KZN's deadly riots in 2021 is spreading on the back of the formation of the historic Government of National Unity.
In the run-up to last month's elections, 17,000 police officers were deployed to the province to keep a grip on political tensions and violence in the form of political killings.
But is this the right approach based on recent history or is it heavy handed?
Vasu Gounden is the founder of the African Centre for the Constructive Resolution of Disputes and is an expert in conflict management and mediation.
He has served on many government-appointed independent commissions, notably the Moerane Commission into political killings in KwaZulu-Natal.
