Motsoaledi spoke at a briefing on Monday highlighting interventions mentioned in the report.
Meanwhile, the Minister revealed in a Parliamentary question that more than R28-million has been spent to market the National Health Insurance, since April 2024.
Mvuyisi Mzukwa, the Chairperson of the South African Medical Association (SAMA) discussed this with eNCA
Addressing barriers in the private health system
Mzukwa described the key recommendations saying, "There were a number of issues, well main points that were picked up from that briefing."
"Private healthcare has been increasingly getting out of reach for citizens in the country. Secondly, there is no structured framework to negotiate tariffs in private healthcare and there is a dire need for that but also the issue of phasing out of service model."
"There's a need also to standardise the benefit package in the healthcare system but most importantly, the inter-operable electronic medical record which is to be rolled out. I think it's a right approach, in the right direction," the SAMA chairperson said.
