JOHANNESBURG - The expulsion of South Africa’s ambassador to the US, Ebrahim Rasool, has raised big questions about the state of relations between the two countries.

Some view it as a major diplomatic blow, while others see it as a chance for South Africa to rethink and strengthen its global strategy.
Policy analyst Dr Reneva Fourie believes it’s a setback, but not the end of the road.
Dr Fourie said, "Currently, the period that we are operating in is extremely volatile. It's extremely uncertain and as South Africa we cannot afford to act very hastily."
"President Trump has proven to be very unpredictable and we need to first assess the situation before we make any decisions," she said.
