Discussion | Municipal Debt | Concerns over municipalities' unpaid Eskom bills

 

JOHANNESBURG - The Public Interest South Africa organisation is concerned about the worsening municipal debt crisis, which is now affecting Eskom's financial situation. 

Recent reports show that many municipalities are failing to meet their debt obligations.

Public Interest South Africa is calling on Energy and Electricity Minister, Kgosientsho Ramokgopa, and the South African Local Government Association to hold municipalities accountable for their financial responsibilities to Eskom. 

Chairperson of Public Interest SA, Tebogo Khaas, spoke to eNCA.
