Israel unlikely to comply with ICJ order - Analyst

JOHANNESBURG - The International Court of Justice has ordered Israel to immediately halt its military assault on Rafah in the Gaza strip.

But Professor Chris Landsberg from the University of Johannesburg says it is unlikely that Israel will comply with the order.

Israel is also ordered to ensure access to investigators or appropriate bodies to probe genocide allegations.

The South African department of International Relations and Cooperation has welcomed the ICJ's ruling. The department says the order is groundbreaking.
