Zimbabwean government told to allow public protests

HARARE - Zimbabwe is in breach of the African Charter, that's the finding of the African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights.

It's ordering authorities and security forces to stop interfering with peaceful public protests.

It follows the arrests of members of Women of Zimbabwe Arise during demonstrations.

WOZA responded by reporting the Zimbabwe government to the human rights body.
