HARARE - Zimbabwe’s government is threatening to ban over 200 non-governmental organisations for administrative failures.
The government claims these NGOs have failed to provide their financial and annual reports under the existing Private Voluntary Organisations Act.
A new bill to amend, tighten and replace the PVOs act is before Parliament.
Speaking in parliament, Zimbabwe Justice Minister, Ziyambi Ziyambi, said the new PVO Amendment Bill aims to criminalise NGOs that fund political parties in Zimbabwe.
