HARARE - Hopes of an opposition MP getting out of jail in time to campaign for the Zimbabwe elections have been dashed.
State prosecutors have brought new charges against Job Sikhala from the Citizens Coalition for Change.
The MP for Zengeza West has been in remand prison since June last year.
He has being held for allegedly inciting public violence at a funeral.
Vibrant MP Job Sikhala has been languishing in Chikurubi Maximum Security Prison for 10 months now and has been denied bail more than 10 times.

He is also charged with public violence and obstruction of justice, after organising the funeral of a party member, in Nyatsime township, south of Harare.
Police allege the funeral turned violent.
This week, Sikhala was slapped with more charges, for a separate incident in May last year, in Chitungwiza.
Sikhala's family believe there is a political hand at play.
The Zimbabwe Permanent Secretary for Information, Nick Mangwana has insisted - on Twitter - that there is no interference by government in Sikhala's case.
